The weather might have ranged from glorious sunshine to torrential downpours, but one thing you know you can rely on is our weekly news round-up. So, take a minute to catch up on the money and personal finance headlines.

1. Cyber safety

At the beginning of the week organisations across the world were still reeling from a massive cyber attack. But with many of us increasingly living and paying for things online, it’s important we know how to protect ourselves.

2. Dodgy driving

More than six million Brits admit to driving on the wrong side of the road when they’re abroad, according to rental firm Goldcar. This includes going the wrong way around roundabouts and turning into the wrong lane at junctions, with men more likely to make mistakes than women. 

3. Key to selling your home

Energy efficient central heating, double glazing and a good broadband connection are among the top 20 ‘must-have’ property features, based on a survey by comparison site 

4. National Sandwich Week

Whether it’s with bacon on the weekend or as part of a meal deal when we’re at the office, we Brits love a sandwich. But buying your lunch every day could be costing you hundreds of pounds a year.

And finally…

UK consumers earn £5.7 billion a year in loyalty rewards, according to, with the average person belonging to around five schemes. However, the vast majority are underestimating how much their points are worth in real terms and are unaware they can be passed on in the event of their death.
