Media comment: Archbishop's Task Group final report into responsible credit and savings

Caroline Rookes Chief Executive for the Money Advice Service comments on the Archbishop’s Task Force final report into responsible credit and savings:

“We welcome the final report from the Archbishop’s Task Group. It highlights the importance of cross-industry collaboration and the need to build financial resilience in our communities. Managing day-to-day finances and improving financial education has never been so vital. The introduction of savings clubs in schools is a great way to encourage our children to talk and learn about money from a young age. Improving access to credit unions will help to prevent people from turning to expensive forms of debt. The Financial Capability Strategy launched at the end of 2015 shows that eight million Britons are over indebted, yet just one in six is seeking help. Engaging with industries to create a collaborated approach is the most effective way of improving our financial capability and getting more people to talk about and understand money.”
