Jake Eliot, Head of Policy at the Money Advice Service commented:

“Financial worries can have far-ranging effects on people’s lives. Every day people come to us with questions or concerns about their money and we know that to tackle the problems they face, it’s important to have an in-depth knowledge of the challenges specific to their circumstances. That’s why work aimed at understanding the circumstances that can affect those in need of support is to be encouraged.

Our debt commissioning strategy reflects extensive consultation with over 175 organisations across a range of sectors and we are in the third year a 10-year Financial Capability strategy to help focus the activities of those working with consumers and money. It’s so important for organisations to engage with the strategy, meeting the vital challenge that is helping people across the UK improve their financial capability.”
