Media comment: FCA's Ageing Population Discussion Paper

Tuesday 22 February 2016

Following today’s publication by the Financial Conduct Authority on the Ageing Population Discussion Paper, Jackie Spencer, Pensions and Retirement strategy manager at the Money Advice Service said:

“This is a timely paper and addresses many of the issues the country will face as more of us live to an older age. Not only does the financial services industry need to provide products for a population that is living longer, but also to co-ordinate the wider message to people to see whether they are planning financially to live into their nineties and beyond.

“These challenges require the coordinated and concerted efforts of a wide range of organisations and individuals. Working together we can start to improve the accessibility of financial products and services and encourage more people to plan ahead and have control over their finances in later life.”
