Monday 6th June 2016

Caroline Siarkiewicz, Head of UK Debt Advice Comments on Money Advice Trust’s Vulnerability Guide:

“We are pleased to contribute to this vital guide which will ensure debt advisers have the information they need to help the most vulnerable people. Vulnerability and debt issues are often seen together and we know that debt advisers see people displaying a range of vulnerabilities. For example; over 52% of clients who have received debt advice from Money Advice Service funded organisations display a mental health condition, 27% are unemployed and 16% are permanently sick or disabled.

The good news is that people with vulnerabilities can improve their financial situation. Those who are worried about their debts should seek help as soon as possible. The UK Debt Advice Locator Tool will help people find free, high quality debt advice across the UK to help them get their finances back on track.”
