Press release: Money - the root of all happiness? wins Speechwriting Award

11 March 2011

A speech given by our Chairman, Gerard Lemos, has won the ‘Best banking and financial speech’ category in the annual Cicero Speechwriting Awards.

‘Money: the root of all happiness?’ was Gerard’s inaugural speech in February at the Royal Society of Arts. In it he explains how the Money Advice Service, as CFEB is soon to become, will make a difference to people’s financial planning and decision-making - and perhaps even to their happiness.

The Cicero Speechwriting Awards are a prestigious global competition recognising the work that goes into making the speeches that help leaders achieve prominence in all sectors of business, politics and society. The Ciceros are awarded by a major US communications business, McMurray Inc, which also runs the Vital Speeches of the Day website.
